Terms of Use
Summary: Use the app for lawful purposes only. Modex Apps provides it as-is with no warranties. There is no key recovery — if you lose your key shares, the message is gone forever.
1. Acceptance
By downloading or using Encrypt RSA ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of the App
Encrypt RSA is a privacy-focused messaging tool that allows users to encrypt and decrypt messages locally on their devices using RSA-2048 and AES-256-GCM hybrid encryption. The App operates entirely on-device. Modex Apps does not operate any servers, store messages, or have access to your data at any time.
3. Permitted use
You may use the App for any lawful purpose, including personal, professional, and commercial communication, provided you comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
4. Prohibited use
You agree not to use the App to:
- Transmit, store, or communicate any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
- Violate the privacy, intellectual property, or other rights of any person.
- Circumvent or interfere with any security controls of the App.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App except as permitted by applicable law.
- Use the App in connection with any illegal activity.
5. No key recovery
The App implements end-to-end encryption with keys generated locally on your device. Modex Apps has no access to your encryption keys, key shares, or decrypted messages. If you lose your key shares, the encrypted message is permanently inaccessible. There is no recovery mechanism. You are solely responsible for safeguarding your key shares.
6. Message expiry
Messages encrypted with an expiry time become permanently undecryptable after that time elapses. This is by design and cannot be reversed by Modex Apps or any other party. Modex Apps is not liable for any loss arising from message expiry.
7. No warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Modex Apps does not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of security vulnerabilities.
Cryptographic security depends on correct usage. Modex Apps is not responsible for security failures arising from user error, compromised devices, coercion, or vulnerabilities in third-party libraries.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Modex Apps and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to loss of messages, loss of data, loss of keys, or security breaches, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
9. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
10. Intellectual property
The App and all associated content, trademarks, and intellectual property are owned by Modex Apps or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App on your device for personal use in accordance with these Terms.
11. Updates and termination
Modex Apps reserves the right to update, modify, or discontinue the App at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms. Continued use of the App after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of the jurisdiction where Modex Apps is registered.
